The Weekly TBG UK Paper

New UK Paper Launched

A new weekly paper was launched in the Commentary section of TBG today. You are reading Issue #1 of @TBG_UK. Here at @TBG_UK we focus mainly on the Fights, Managers and Boxers of the UK Region within The Boxing Game. We may also from time to time cover stories from around the rest of the world, but always from a UK perspective.

You can look forward to great things from @TBG_UK, including Mac Loaf's weekly editorial, Trevor Tumultuous reviewing and previewing the forthcoming big fights. Axe-Man John is in charge of the Awards section - beware though, some of them you don't want to win.

Mr.X is in charge of our Interview section. We are looking for Managers and Fighters to Interview for future editions. Just I-Mail Mac Loaf if you are interested. We also have staff out to catch the most exciting News from the Continental and Word Regions.

Keep reading @TBG_UK for the best UK Region coverage.

Golden Glove Reaches Final Stage

After months of blood, sweat and tears (not just from Super_Griffin), the first Golden Glove Tournament is approaching the end. The Golden Glove Tournament was a popular section of Super_Griffin's Brits Are Best Commentary. The initial run saw challengers from all countries fight the current holder to try and win the Golden Glove from them. If successful, they faced the next challenger, so creating an impressive unbroken Roll Of Honour.

Things got even more dicey and exciting when the long awaited Knock-Out Tournament arrived! Fought between the current and former Golden Glove holders, this was what the fans had been waiting for. The top seed, "Never To Be Released" (managed by Chops & Joycey Babe) received a bye past Round 1. After Round 1, the semi-finals saw the elimination of the conveniently named "The Golden Boy" (managed by Mac Loaf - yours truly), and "Carlito Caspian" (managed by Big Daddy Diesel).

The first Golden Glove final takes place sometime soon after 22nd December between "Never To Be Released", and Don Ekholm's "Dan Baeckman II". With not much to choose between the fighters, the weight division might be Middleweight, but the excitement is of the Heavyweight variety.

Sadly Super_Griffin is intending to slow down with his TBG action for the foreseeable future. We here at @TBG_UK fully understand, but will however issue an impassioned plea for a swift return. After all, few tournaments manage to surpass the Golden Glove. There's many highlights on over the festive season, but make sure you check out the Golden Glove!
